Germany-based Dutch type designer Luc(as) de Groot is best-known for his superfamily Thesis, but his repertoire is much wider and his type has become a subtle part of everyday life. He developed Calibri for Microsoft as the default typeface in MS Word. Luc(as) has designed custom fonts for newspapers such as Le Monde, Metro, Der Spiegel, and taz.die tageszeitung–in addition to creating corporate type for international companies including Sun Microsystems, Bell South, Heineken, Volkswagen and Miele. Designers across the planet are attracted by LucasFonts’ functionality, friendly appearance, and the enormous range of possibilities each family offers.
