Receipt is inspired by the dot matrix characters found on – you guessed it – the paper receipts you receive after a purchase. Pieter designed the first version in 2000 as part of a proposal for a corporate identity that, unfortunately, was rejected. Initially, the typeface only had capital letters.

Carefully pushing pixels around, Pieter improved their design for the typeface’s current iteration. He also added lowercase letters and completed the character set. Don’t believe us? We have the Receipt. No, really, you’re looking at it. Receipt comes in two styles and supports Latin Extended.
