Dico Typewriter is the typewriter interpretation of Dico Sans, the centerpoint of the Dico superfamily, a varied suite of typefaces designed by Pieter van Rosmalen encompassing eight proportional and monospaced sub-families. Originally started in 2004 for design studio Teldesign, now comprehensively updated and expanded upon. Dico Typewriter contains roughed up versions of Dico Mono Sans, Dico Mono Slab, and Dico Mono Script, imitating the effects of a typewriter hitting the page. The basic structure and feel of Dico (Latin for “I speak, I talk, I give a speech”) is shaped by compact proportions and open, yet restrained letterforms that gain in friendliness and warmth when accompanied by their more swinging italics. OpenType features let you customize your design even more. The character sets encompass Latin Extended and support over 100 languages.
