Daisy began with a single lowercase ‘c’ and a challenge: Ludwig Übele wanted to see if he could reduce a letter’s counter to the thinnest possible line to define the ball terminal. Satisfied that he could, he went on to apply the concept consistently throughout the alphabet. The result is a cheerful, experimental family whose stubby serifs and slit-like smiles literally underline the bulbous terminals. Daisy won a prestigious Certificate of Excellence in Type Design from the Type Directors Club in 2011. LudwigType, 2010.
