Javier Quintana Godoy

Typographer and Type designer born in Punta Arenas. His work focuses on type design, editorial and logo design. Founder and director of Quintana-Font Foundry. Since 2012 he is Professor of the Diploma in Typography at the P. Universidad Católica de Chile and Professor of Typography and Editorial Design Workshops at UNIACC (since 2023). Winner of the Amster-Coré prize for co-designing the book “Por la güeya del Matadero”. He has designed the following typefaces: Atalanta, Berenjena, Cordillera, Lira Sans, Loica Sans, Latinx Text (commissioned by Malba), Pregunta (commissioned by MilM2) Mazúrquica, Modérnica, and Violeta. He has co-published three volumes of “Cosas que se pueden hacer en este mundo” (Things that can be done in this world) and developed pictogram design projects such as Vivaceta and Mazúrquica Picto.
