I create fonts as they are a constantly evolving form of cultural expression. Fonts provide a unique voice in visual communication, bridging together local traditions and global trends, while drawing inspiration from the past.

He holds a degree in Printmaking from Nicolaus Copernicus University and an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading. After working as a graphic designer, he gradually transitioned to full-time type design. In 2024, he launched an online shop to sell his typefaces directly.

With its cheerful personality, RL Aqva blends a modern graphic sensibility with historical influences, drawing inspiration from iconic humanist typefaces and the golden era of phototypesetting. It pays homage to representatives like Revue, Marvin, or ITC Busorama. ‍ The typeface features organic yet simplified forms that create a strong visual impact. This bold design language is further emphasised in the capital letters, where the asymmetric construction of characters like ‘A’ and ‘Y’ adds a playful dynamic, balanced by the forward-reaching shapes of ‘R’, ‘S’, ‘D’, and ‘B’. RL Aqva does not fear occasional overlapping characters to create dense, cohesive blocks of display text, perfect for eye-catching headlines or bold visual statements.

Its defining feature lies in the contrast between sharp, spiky terminals and generously rounded forms seen in characters like ‘O’, ‘C’, ‘d’, ‘p’, and ‘g’. This dynamic tension between angular and curved elements creates a bold, graphic impression, particularly in its heavier weights. Inspired by contrasts between sharp and delicate forms — like the tension in a balloon before it pops, metal cutouts, or cutting pasta with scissors — it plays with visual tension in a way that feels experimental yet rooted in tradition. While not adhering strictly to any single type model, it borrows influences from Art Nouveau typography and draws inspiration from iconic typefaces like ITC Benguiat, particularly in its heavier, display-oriented styles.

Historically, Grotesk typefaces were loosely connected collections that could expand and evolve — a quality that Sezon embraces. Its design strikes a balance between industrial precision and mechanical warmth, making it versatile for a wide range of applications. It follows measurements taken by both ruler and eye, rather than by laser. The typeface features semi-open terminals and generous proportions, paired with fully rounded counters, allowing it to perform well in large display settings and longer paragraphs. While Sezon takes cues from early Grotesks like Venus, it also incorporates modern influences, such as the geometric simplicity of Futura. This combination gives the typeface a timeless yet contemporary feel, suitable for both traditional and forward-looking design applications.

RL Wit is a serif typeface for display use, inspired by Renaissance epitaphs from Wrocław. While much historical lettering was lost after World War II, late Renaissance epitaphs survive, showcasing Latin inscriptions framed by German Fraktur or Schwabacher texts. These works, created under sculptor Gerhard Hendrik and his workshop, blend Renaissance elegance with a medieval touch.RL Wit draws loose inspiration from these inscriptions, reinterpreting their essence for modern typography. Its typeface family features delicate details and weights from Hairline to Bold, combining historical charm with contemporary functionality.
