Troy Leinster is an Independent Typeface Designer from Brisbane, Australia. He holds a master's Degree in Typeface Design from the Type & Media program at The Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague, The Netherlands—and a Postgraduate Certificate in Typeface Design from the Type@Cooper Program at Cooper Union in New York.

From 2014–2021, Troy was a full-time typeface designer at the Hoefler&Co Type Foundry in New York. In 2022, he launched Leinster Type, with retail typefaces including Brisbane, Sedgwick, and Aligne.

Troy has accumulated over ten years of typeface design experience and has been teaching the Principles of Typeface Design course at Cooper Union in NYC since 2016. In 2020, Troy founded Typemasters, an online one-on-one coaching service to support designers through the process of making a typeface.
