Eugene Yukechev

Eugene Yukechev (b. 1980) is a type designer, typographer, and co-founder of Schrift Publishers. After earning a degree in philology and spending a decade as a professional graphic designer, he graduated from the British Higher School of Art and Design’s Type and Typography course in 2010, and in in 2020—the Expert class Type design at the Plantin Institute of Typography in Antwerp with a research on typefaces of French Renaissance punchcutter Robert Granjon.

Currently, together with the partners from Schrift Publishers, Eugene is running the Schrift Foundry with the goal to produce exquisite typefaces of both original and historical background. Eugene also gives lectures and workshops on type design and typography, provides consultations on Cyrillic type design, and collaborates with media, design studios and production companies.
