Anagha Narayanan

Anagha Narayanan is an Indian typeface designer currently based in France who has a special focus on Indic scripts. During her undergraduate studies in Communication Design at D J Academy of Design Coimbatore, Anagha moved to Paris to intern at Black[Foundry]. She then continued on her journey with type design working with Universal Thirst, Bangalore and Sharp Type, New York. Anagha is the recipient of the SOTA Catalyst Award 2020 and her project Ilai has won Best of Discipline (Type Design) by the Type Director’s Club Certificate of Excellence. She is currently pursuing her master’s at ÉSAD, Amiens, France. Anagha is inspired by how type design is so closely knitted with culture and history, and does the task of preserving it graphically.
